Elad Keidan reveals the inspiration behind his award-winning film, Afterthought

The Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema opens on October 28 with the U.S. premiere of Afterthought (HaYored LaMaala) the multi-award winning feature film from Elad Keidan. Elad is traveling from Israel to introduce the film himself on October 28 and will also conduct a “Q and A” after the film’s downtown screening at AMC River East on November 1. The writer and director is fresh off his triumph at the Israeli Ophir Awards (the Israeli Oscars) last month, where Afterthought won for “Best Screenplay,” “Best Sound” and “Best Editing.” The film also won the “Best Israeli Film” award at this year’s Haifa Film Festival and was honored with a special screening at Cannes.
