Baba Joon, the first Israeli film in Farsi, is a window into the rarely seen world of Persian immigrants. Set in a moshav in the Negev in the early 1980s, this coming of age drama tells the story of three generations of the Morgian family. Yitzhak (Navid Negahban, Abu Nazir in the American TV series Homeland) has run the farm his father built.
He expects Moti, his son, to do the same. But when Moti turns 13, he rejects this pre-determined future, encouraged by his visiting uncle from America.
